Dr Ashenafie
At The Road to Detroit, we believe in the power of resilience, opportunity, and the immigrant dream. Inspired by the life journey of Dr. Ashenafie Tsegaye, our mission is to shed light on the untold stories of immigrant professionals navigating corporate America.
What began as one man’s journey in 1981—arriving in the United States with just two suitcases and a vision for a better future—has evolved into a powerful narrative of perseverance, growth, and impact. Over a 30-year career in the automotive industry, Dr. Tsegaye experienced firsthand the challenges of adapting to unfamiliar systems, overcoming cultural barriers, and striving for success in environments where guidance and representation were often limited.

My Degree
The attached degree was a new curriculum demanded by manufacture to fix and diagnosis advance complicated Heavy machinery including farm equipment, construction equipment and army heavy equipment. Which is unique in the united state. I am proud to be the first one to graduate in this program 1995.
